Data Center Engineering Operations Trainee

This role involves responsibility for Data Center Engineering Operations within an Amazon Data Center, including risk management and mitigation, corrective and preventative maintenance of critical infrastructure, vendor management and metric reporting.

The position is a 6-month fixed-term hire with a possibility to become a full-time role. Key responsibilities may include:

Key Responsibilities
- Assist on-site management of contractors, sub-contractors, and vendors to ensure work performed aligns with established practices, procedures, and local legislation.
- Maintain performance benchmarks, conduct analyses, and prepare reports on all aspects of critical facility infrastructure operations and maintenance.
- Generate Change Management requests and Incident Management tickets for DCEO as directed.
- Contribute to documentation relevant to business and facility operations.
- Assist with installing racks and providing power/cooling within constraints.
- Participate in routine maintenance and emergency services on critical systems such as switchgear, generators, UPS systems, power distribution equipment, chillers, cooling towers, computer room air handlers, building monitoring systems, etc.
- Assist with managing Facility assets and providing infrastructure and inventory asset management as directed.
- May participate in Construction and Operational Meetings as required.
- Assist with Work Order compliance and review of contractual SLAs.
- Interface with Infra Ops teams for day-to-day operational requirements.

Requirements
- High school (HSC) or equivalent (such as TAFE and/or trade certification) diploma.

Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of data center engineering experience.
- Basic awareness of mechanical and/or electrical systems.
