Job Role: Clinical Lead

The successful applicant will provide leadership and direction to our centre teams, utilising evidence-based interventions to support the health and wellbeing of young people.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Support headspace staff, private allied health providers, and collocated services in responding to clients presenting to headspace Maitland or Cessnock.
  • Assess young people using designated governance tools and monitor the effectiveness of Intake systems and referral pathways with the Centre Manager.
  • Develop effective relationships with key stakeholders and referral networks, promoting youth-friendly practice principles and culturally safe services.
  • Provide formal and informal supervision, manage and monitor outcomes, and advocate for improved accessibility across multiple service systems.
  • Collaborate with the Centre Manager to identify gaps and implement strategies to enhance service delivery and access.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Tertiary degree in Psychology, Social Work, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years work experience in youth mental health settings.
  • Current registration with relevant professional association (AHPRA/AASW).
  • Evidence-based clinical skills in assessment and working with young people and their families/carers in a mental health setting.
