Job Overview

The role of Undermanager is crucial in ensuring the success of Underground Mining Operations by providing leadership and direction to underground shift crews.

This position involves the execution of daily and weekly plans, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental obligations.

The successful candidate will be provided with paid accommodation while working the allocated roster.

Key Responsibilities
  • Initiate improvements and work independently with minimal supervision in a coordinated manner with peers.
  • Communicate 24-hour plans to relevant parties on shift.
  • Provide assistance for the Shift Engineer, Deputies, and Trades when varying the plan.
  • Monitor shift personnel performance and enforce standards of work and behavior.
  • Ensure accurate completion of shift reports.
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in Underground Longwall Mining.
  • Holder of certificate of competency as Undermanager or equivalent qualification.
  • Desired Minimum of 10 years' experience in the mining industry.
  • Proven track record in operational management at same or subordinate level.
  • Demonstrated management and leadership capability.
