Industrial Light & Magic is seeking a highly skilled Senior Generalist to join our team. As a Senior Generalist, you will be responsible for creating high-quality digital environments that integrate seamlessly with plate elements. You will have a vast knowledge of multiple workflows and be able to turn around beautiful work quickly to help the VFX Supe and client shape the vision of the project.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create a range of high-quality digital environments within a tight timeline and with minimal supervision
  • Establish shaders and lighting setups that look convincing and render efficiently
  • Source suitable reference materials for required assets
  • Participate in rounds and attend dailies for your show and engage in creative conversations with show leads and artists from other departments
  • Interpret and respond to client and supervisor feedback with minimal direction from your Lead
  • Mentor more junior Artists and assist them with their shots
  • Participate and engage with the Generalist team as a whole and contribute to our inclusive, supportive, and collaborative culture
  • Help to develop and test tools and techniques before they are rolled out to shot artists
  • Be prepared to lead a sequence of shots and create the look that the rest of the team follows

Requirements:

  • Degree and 7 years of relevant professional experience
  • Proven ability in multiple CG techniques, including modeling, texturing, shading, lighting, look development, matte painting, or compositing
  • Excellent communication and team-oriented thinking
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly pick up new software
  • Fluent in some or all of these software packages: Nuke, 3dsMax, Maya, Houdini, Solaris, and Renderman, and/or Vray renderer. Comparable software experience considered
  • Good working knowledge of specialist tools and plugins like Photoshop, Speedtree, zBrush, Substance Painter, Gaea, etc.
