Position Overview:

We are seeking a **Blood Collection Team Supervisor** to become a vital part of our organization at **OneBlood**. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading, instructing, and mentoring the collection personnel during blood donation events or at various locations. Key duties include executing phlebotomy and collection tasks, ensuring adherence to established protocols, aiding in donor outreach, and operating the blood collection vehicle when necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, instruct, and mentor collection personnel
  • Ensure compliance with relevant policies and procedures
  • Execute phlebotomy and collection tasks
  • Support donor outreach initiatives and help achieve collection targets
  • Verify that equipment is functional and that essential supplies are stocked
  • Monitor donor deferrals and performance to identify training opportunities
  • Uphold exceptional customer service and professionalism
  • Operate the blood collection vehicle and other transport units, if assigned

Qualifications:

Education and Experience: A High School diploma or equivalent, along with a minimum of six months of relevant experience

Certificates and Licenses: CDL pre-qualifications, training, and a valid CDL are required; CPR Certification is mandatory

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to comprehend, interpret, and adhere to documentation
  • Strong organizational skills for timely task completion
  • Effective communication skills with both clients and team members
  • Basic proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office
  • Capability to operate a mobile collection vehicle if assigned
  • Ability to maintain composure in a dynamic work environment
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays as needed

Physical Demands:

This role involves physically intensive activities such as lifting, carrying, and manual dexterity in handling phlebotomy tools. If assigned to mobile units, responsibilities will also include driving a larger vehicle.

Work Environment:

Potential exposure to challenging conditions such as adverse weather and blood-borne pathogens. The work setting may involve close quarters on mobile collection units with moderate noise levels.
