About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join NSW Health as a Clinical Coordinator in the Safe Wayz Program. The program aims to provide a culturally safe environment for children and families from diverse backgrounds, including Aboriginal families and communities.

As a Clinical Coordinator, you will be responsible for coordinating primary prevention initiatives, providing early support for children and families to address problematic or harmful sexual behaviours, and coordinating pathways into specialist counselling services. You will also work collaboratively with other teams to implement and develop localised policy, procedures, and strategic direction.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with Aboriginal children and families, and a strong understanding of the cultural and social determinants of health. You will be passionate about providing high-quality care and support to vulnerable populations, and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

This is an identified position under Section 14 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977, and applicants must be of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate primary prevention initiatives to address problematic or harmful sexual behaviours in children under the age of criminal responsibility
  • Provide early support for children and families to address behaviours when they are first identified
  • Coordinate pathways into specialist counselling services for children and families who need them
  • Work collaboratively with other teams to implement and develop localised policy, procedures, and strategic direction
  • Provide cultural consultation to support non-Aboriginal clinicians working with Aboriginal children and families
