About the Role

Wesley Mission seeks an experienced and motivated person to join their Family Support Team. This is a challenging yet rewarding role, requiring initiative, resilience, collaboration, creativity, and genuine compassion.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist families experiencing homelessness or at-risk of homelessness in West and South West Sydney
  • Work from offices in Fairfield and neighboring districts, partner organisations, and clients' homes
  • Travel across districts to deliver services
  • Develop and implement person-centered, trauma-informed, culturally competent, and respectful practice
Essential Criteria:
  • Relevant qualifications and experience in provision of quality accommodation, care, and support activities for families
  • Understanding of homelessness and ability to provide empathy to families at risk or experiencing homelessness
  • Ability to articulate person-centered, trauma-informed, culturally competent, and respectful practice
  • Competency to respond to safety needs of children at risk of serious harm
  • Effective communication and administrative skills, including computer literacy and documentation
Desirable Criteria:
  • Local, sector, or organisational knowledge
  • Familiarity with sector practice guidelines, information systems, and outcome measures
