Job Title: Personal Support Worker

Job Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Personal Support Worker to assist our clients with daily living tasks, making a positive impact on their lives.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be physically fit, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.

About the Role

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting clients with toileting, bladder and bowel support, trachea management routines, PEG meal supplements and feeding, transfers in and out of bed and wheelchairs, passive exercises and in-home rehabilitation exercise programs, grooming, bathing, dressing and dental hygiene, assistance with medication and basic wound care management, domestic support such as meal preparation, light household duties and laundry, community access such as arranging taxis or driving with client in their car to appointments and/or social activities.
  • Providing comprehensive industry level training at commencement of employment, as well as ongoing on the job training and support throughout employment.
  • Working under the guidance, support and instruction of key workers and community nurse clinicians.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A positive and professional attitude, and an empathetic nature.
  • Experience in Nursing, Aged Care or Disability Support is desirable (however not essential).
  • Full industry training is provided, as well as ongoing training and support.
  • Reliability and ability to commit to work to an agreed roster of shifts.
  • Physical fitness - capable of constant lifting, bending, and carrying.
  • Treat others with dignity, respect and without judgement.
  • An excellent listener who can communicate authentically and honestly, and able to work independently.
  • Willingness to learn.
  • Adaptability to different needs, environments, experiences, and cultural backgrounds of clients.

  • NDIS Worker Screening Positive Notice (Yellow Card) and Working with Children Check (Blue Card) or be willing to apply for one.
  • Completion of the NDIS Workers Orientation Module.
  • Flexibility to work a fixed fortnightly with varying shift times. Weekends & late afternoons into early evenings.
