Job Opportunity:

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled professional to join our team as a Community Engagement Officer.

The successful applicant will work closely with our team leader to foster inclusive neighbourhoods, celebrating cultural diversity and creativity, enhancing residents' social connections and participation, and empowering resident voices to influence service delivery.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about people-centred work, community empowerment, and leadership. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, a collaborative partnering style, and a commitment to our vision and mission.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver key organisational outcomes.
  • Develop and implement community engagement programs that promote social inclusion.
  • Build relationships with residents, partner agencies, and stakeholders to enhance resident outcomes.
  • Support and guide residents to build their capacity and empower them to make informed decisions.
  • Contribute to policy development and procedures that support organisational goals.

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualification in community development or a relevant social science discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience working in partnerships with the broader community and human services sector.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including written and oral communication.
  • Ability to facilitate and present in front of groups.
  • Sensitivity to issues affecting socially disadvantaged people and groups.
  • Experience in conflict management and multifaceted relationships.
