Diversity and Inclusion Specialist

About the Role

We are seeking highly organised and motivated individuals to join our Community Development department in a rewarding role that focuses on improving health, wellbeing and social connections of seniors, those who identify as culturally and linguistically diverse or people with disability.

The successful candidates will be part of a dedicated team responsible for developing, reviewing, reporting and implementing range of strategies, plans and initiatives including:

  • Community Wellbeing Plan
  • Gender Equity Access Plan
  • Other plans that may be developed across Community Development

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitating senior citizen social clubs across six centres
  • Supporting Multicultural Advisory Committee
  • Developing accessible and inclusive volunteers programs with focus on people with disability
  • Implementing recommendations of Rainbow Pride Advisory group in support of LGBTQIA+ community
  • Providing advice and support for successful delivery of Community for All Abilities projects

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Proactive approach and ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
  • Results-focused and able to prioritise, communicate effectively
  • Experience working with people from diverse backgrounds and implementing programs, strategies and initiatives
  • Tertiary qualification in social sciences, planning, health promotion or community development disciplines
