Centre Chef

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Centre Chef to join our team.

About the Role

  • As our Centre Chef, you will prepare fresh, nutritious meals for up to 71 children daily.

  1. You will plan and embed wholesome seasonal menus with care and creativity.

  2. Manage food allergies and dietary requirements with diligence and attention to detail.

  3. Order and purchase ingredients within budget and ensure timely delivery.

  4. Maintain the highest standards of food safety, cleanliness, and hygiene in the kitchen at all times.

  5. Create a calm, organised, and welcoming kitchen environment that inspires teamwork and collaboration.

  6. Communicate effectively with educators and families regarding meal planning and preferences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Embed sustainable practices in menu planning and food preparation.

  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop healthy eating programs.

  • Ensure accurate inventory management and minimize waste.

  • Develop and implement innovative solutions to improve kitchen operations.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a cook or chef (childcare, aged care, or hospitality experience highly regarded).

  • Strong knowledge of food handling and hygiene procedures.

  • Excellent time-management and communication skills.

  • Experience in a childcare or similar setting (highly desirable).
