Strategic Commercial Finance Professional

We are seeking an experienced commercial finance professional to drive strategic insights and partner with stakeholders across our complex, customer-focused business.

This role offers the opportunity to leverage your analytical skills and commercial acumen to drive performance and growth. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing insightful financial analysis, driving performance, and contributing to commercial projects.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years' experience in a fast-paced and high-performing environment, preferably in a commercial finance or retail setting. They will possess demonstrated experience in a genuinely commercial role covering performance insights and business planning and budgeting.

A key requirement for this role is the ability to provide value-adding commercial and business advice to senior management, as well as develop effective partnerships between support and business functions.

Candidates must be critical and objective thinkers with strong, cross-functional problem-solving skills, and hold a tertiary qualification in commerce or business with accounting or finance majors. A CA or CPA qualification is highly desirable.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide insightful financial analysis to drive performance.
  • Drive performance through accurate forecasting, budgeting, and long-term planning support.
  • Identify opportunities for cost optimisation and revenue growth.
  • Prepare monthly financial reports, variance analysis, and commentary.
  • Contribute to commercial projects, pricing strategies, and investment evaluations.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a fast-paced and high-performing environment.
  • FMC or Retail experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in a genuinely commercial role covering performance insights and business planning and budgeting.
  • Previous experience working in a complex FP&A organisation.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide value-adding commercial and business advice to senior management.
  • Proven ability to develop effective partnerships between support and business functions.
  • Critical and objective thinker with strong, cross-functional problem-solving skills.
  • Tertiary qualifications in commerce or business, with accounting or finance majors.
  • Hold a CA or CPA qualification.
