About the Role

Gallagher Bassett is seeking a highly skilled Dispute Resolution Officer to join our Workers Compensation team. This role will be responsible for representing the company throughout the conciliation process, determining fair outcomes for workers compensation disputes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Represent the company at conciliation conferences, ensuring a professional and courteous approach.
  • Facilitate effective communication with injured workers, conciliators, panel members, and legal representatives to drive fair outcomes.
  • Undertake tasks associated with reconsiderations of disputed decisions, including preparing for conciliation conferences and conducting pre-conciliation analyses.
  • Engage with the Workplace Injury Commission (WIC) to resolve disputed matters.
  • Settle claims within client service instructions, WorkSafe Victoria legislation, and company guidelines, prioritizing mutually satisfactory resolutions.
  • Communicate conciliation outcomes and ensure timely action is taken.

Requirements

  • Experience working in the Workers Compensation industry and applying Work Cover legislation is highly desirable.
  • Strong conflict resolution and negotiation skills, with excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • A tertiary qualification in Law, Business, or an industry-specific certification is preferred.
  • A current and valid Driver's License is required.
