About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Arbitration Dispute Resolution Officer to join our team at EML (Employers Mutual Limited). As a key member of our claims team, you will play a critical role in helping us achieve our mission of supporting individuals and businesses in resolving disputes in a fair and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Attend Work Injury Commission (WIC) hearings and provide expert advice on dispute resolution strategies.
  • Evaluate the merits of disputes and determine resolution strategies to facilitate timely resolution.
  • Prepare and deliver well-reasoned and clear oral and written submissions to support dispute resolution efforts.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Review and report on identified scheme trends and individual cases to inform dispute resolution strategies.
About You

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced professional with a strong background in Victorian workers compensation disputation and litigation processes or alternative dispute resolution. You will have excellent engagement, negotiation, conflict resolution, people and stakeholder management skills, as well as a strong understanding of Victorian workers compensation legislation and case law.

You will be highly approachable with excellent oral and written communication skills, including previous advocacy experience. You will also be competent in the use of Microsoft Office products and able to use claims management data systems.
