The role of a Security Officer encompasses a variety of responsibilities that can be performed across different sectors and positions. This overview outlines the general duties associated with this role.
- Annual salary range of $74,000 to $95,000 along with annual leave benefits;

The primary responsibility involves maintaining a visible security presence at the university and providing outstanding customer service to students, faculty, and visitors. Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting foot patrols, primarily in outdoor settings;
- Escorting individuals throughout the campus;
- Overseeing the locking and unlocking of facilities;
- Guiding and assisting individuals in navigating the campus;
- Documenting incident reports;
- Communicating effectively with key stakeholders.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Physically fit, capable of standing and walking for extended durations;
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities;
- Friendly, approachable demeanor with a talent for building rapport with students;
- Exceptional interpersonal skills;
- Strong situational awareness.
Qualifications Needed:
- Current Victorian Security Licence;
- Certificate II in Security Operations;
- Valid First Aid Certificate (Level 2);
- Working With Children Check;
- Full valid driver's license.
