Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a culturally informed liaison between Aboriginal consumers, their families, and health service providers.">
  • Advocate for culturally safe care and support access to appropriate mental health services in hospital and community settings.">

Requirements:

To be considered for this role, you must be of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent and hold a minimum Certificate III qualification in Aboriginal Primary Health Care or a related field.

You will also need to demonstrate knowledge of the Aboriginal concept of social and emotional wellbeing, understanding of Aboriginal family structure, culture and wisdom, and the practical and emotional issues when working with Aboriginal individuals with mental health concerns and their families.
