About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mental Health Emergency Department Clinician to join our Psychiatric Emergency Care Team at Latrobe Regional Hospital. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality mental health care to consumers experiencing significant mental health difficulties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of consumers to identify their mental health needs and develop individualized care plans.
  • Provide evidence-based treatment and support to consumers, including crisis intervention, counseling, and case management.
  • Collaborate with internal and external services to ensure seamless care coordination and effective communication.
  • Monitor consumer progress and adjust care plans as needed to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Participate in clinical supervision and peer review to maintain high standards of practice and stay up-to-date with best practices.
  • Adhere to organizational policies and procedures, including documentation guidelines and responsible rostering and leave management practices.
Requirements
  • Postgraduate qualification in a relevant field, such as psychology, social work, or nursing.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in mental health emergency department or crisis intervention settings.
  • Sound knowledge of the Mental Health Act 2014 and other relevant legislation.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team structure and as a sole clinician.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well as part of a team.
