ER and IR Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced ER and IR Specialist to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a dynamic and collaborative team, supporting our organization in all aspects of employee relations and industrial relations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert advice and support on employee relations (ER) and industrial relations (IR) matters within the organization.
  • Manage and resolve employee grievances and disputes, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and company policies.
  • Collaborate with HR business partners, legal teams, and senior management to develop and implement ER/IR policies, procedures, and initiatives.
  • Conduct investigations into employee complaints, ensuring thoroughness, fairness, and compliance with company protocols.
  • Provide guidance and support to managers and supervisors in handling disciplinary actions, performance management, and termination processes.
  • Stay updated on relevant legislation, industry trends, and best practices in ER and IR to ensure compliance and proactively identify potential risks or opportunities.
  • Support the negotiation and administration of enterprise agreements, employment contracts, and other industrial instruments.
  • Collaborate with external stakeholders, such as unions, government agencies, and legal counsel, as necessary.
  • Prepare reports and presentations on ER/IR matters for senior management and other stakeholders.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as an ER and IR Specialist or a similar role, preferably within the superannuation or financial services industry.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian employment laws, industrial relations frameworks, and Fair Work Act.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing complex ER/IR cases, including investigations, grievances, and dispute resolution.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Sound judgment and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to balance employee interests, organizational requirements, and legal compliance.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven experience working with unions and enterprise agreements is a plus.
