We are seeking a highly skilled Corporate Risk Management Professional to join our team in Sydney or Melbourne.



About the Role

The Opportunity:


Ashurst, Australia's foremost legal-led consultancy, is looking for an experienced risk practitioner to join our Risk Modernisation team. As a Specialist, you will be an integral member of a team delivering core risk and compliance solutions to clients across various industries.


Your work will involve supporting and advising clients on the development and implementation of risk frameworks, assessing risk programs, implementing controls testing and uplift, and designing and implementing compliance programs.


You will also support Partners, Directors, and Executives to identify and execute business development activities, building the Ashurst Risk Advisory brand.



About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:



  • An extensive background in risk management, preferably with listed companies.
  • Demonstrated expertise in common risk tools, frameworks, and standards.
  • Proven experience in developing high-quality value for clients through risk management strategies and controls.
  • Excellent client relationship-building skills, including clear communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience managing multiple projects, including proposal development, pre-engagement activities, producing deliverables, conducting stakeholder workshops, issuing reports, and billing.
  • The ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • A passion for collaboration and leading/nurturing peers, contributing to a positive team culture.
