Men's Health Care Leader for Indigenous Communities

The Men's Clinic Manager provides strategic leadership and coordination of comprehensive primary health care in Anyinginyi Health's Men's clinic. This position is responsible for ensuring cultural safety and high standards of clinical care and client flow. The role sits within the Health Services Section and leads a multidisciplinary team including a Client Support Officer, Aboriginal Liaison Officer, General Practitioner, Male Registered Nurses and Aboriginal Health Practitioners.
Key Responsibilities- To coordinate regular meetings of the Men's Health Nurses and staff across all Anyinginyi Health clinics, fostering good communication and a positive team dynamic to ensure all roles and responsibilities are understood, allocated, and clearly communicated.
- Create, implement, and monitor culturally appropriate activities that promote male engagement with health services.
- Work collaboratively with other health services and organisations relevant to Aboriginal men in the region to provide high-quality healthcare to male clients.
- Coordinate and facilitate access to healthcare by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander male clients across Barkley Region communities.
- Ensure effective rostering of staff and client workflow management.
- Assist GPs and other clinical staff as required, including visiting health professionals and specialists.
- E nsure data, reporting, and compliance obligations for services are met.
- Implement relevant policies and procedures to ensure clinical and legal compliance.
- Manage complaints from various stakeholders (clients, staff, and service providers) effectively.
To be considered for this position, you must possess current registration as either an Aboriginal Health Practitioner or Registered Nurse. You should also have a demonstrated understanding of the Primary Health Care system and key issues relevant to closing the gap in health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
Demonstrated experience in providing a broad range of clinical interventions and possessing qualifications to provide vaccinations within the Northern Territory is essential. Knowledge of quality and accreditation, including RACGP accreditation processes and requirements for primary health care services, is highly valued.
Previous experience working with an Aboriginal organisation or communities is desirable but not essential if you can demonstrate a clear understanding of the issues pertaining to Aboriginal Primary Health Care and the social determinants of health in our surrounding communities.
