A unique opportunity exists for a dedicated individual to contribute to the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal communities in the Barkly Region. As an Indigenous Health Advocate, you will play a crucial role in developing and promoting supportive resources and activities that aim to reduce smoking rates and promote smoke-free spaces.
About Us
Anyingini Health Aboriginal Corporation is a multi-disciplinary organisation providing primary healthcare services to the Aboriginal people of Tennant Creek and the surrounding Barkly region. Our mission is to be a provider of high-quality holistic primary healthcare services, featuring prevention and treatment in a culturally responsive way.
The Role
This full-time position involves assisting the Team Leader and Public Health staff to deliver smoking prevention and cessation campaigns, information sessions, and community events. You will help develop respectful relationships with local communities, ensure program materials are up-to-date and engaging, and undertake administrative duties as directed.
Requirements
We seek an individual with experience working in Aboriginal community health or welfare services, who is willing to undertake relevant training and able to support the delivery of culturally responsive programs. Essential skills include good communication, time management, and the ability to work effectively with diverse community groups.
Benefits
As an employee of Anyingini Health Aboriginal Corporation, you will enjoy a generous salary package, including $61,005 - $65,562 per annum, plus benefits such as 6 weeks annual leave, free general dentistry, and a Remote Retention Allowance of $750.
