Job Description

The Transportation Program Management Director position plays a crucial role in driving the strategy for and delivery of Program Management services to clients across multiple projects.

This individual will provide vision and direction for strategic planning and development of PM initiatives, implement quality control measures, and coordinate staff on relevant projects.


Key Responsibilities
  • Drive growth in Program Management services by developing and implementing effective strategies.
  • Implement and refine HDR's Program Management processes and systems to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Coordinate staffing on relevant projects within the Transportation Business Group, including providing oversight on large programs.
  • Assist and support strategic and tactical pursuits for large programs, ensuring alignment with company goals.
  • Serve as a mentor and leader for staff in the Program Management Business Class, developing their skills and expertise.
  • Develop and manage the strategic growth plan, identify staffing needs, and establish metrics for program success.
  • Direct efforts to utilize staff and enhance the overall success of Program Management services within the organization.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management/Science, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in project management, with a strong background in leading transportation projects.
  • Proven experience as a Program Manager on large delivery programs, with ability to manage multiple projects and clients.
  • Strong leadership skills, with ability to communicate effectively and participate in high-level client presentations.
