Canine Mobility Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Canine Mobility Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Guide Dog Services department, you will play a vital role in enhancing the independence and mobility of individuals with vision impairment.

Your primary responsibility will be to assess and train guide dogs to meet the highest standards, based on International Guide Dog Federation guidelines. You will work closely with clients to understand their unique needs and develop personalized training programs to empower them to live fuller, more independent lives.

In addition to your technical expertise, you will possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders. You will also be able to remain calm under pressure, think critically, and adapt to changing situations.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of canine behavior and psychology, as well as experience working with assistance animals. A recognized qualification in Guide Dog Mobility is essential, along with strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess and train guide dogs to meet international standards
  • Develop and deliver personalized training programs for clients
  • Collaborate with colleagues to match guide dogs with clients
  • Ensure high-quality care and attention to detail throughout the guide dog lifecycle
