Job Opportunity: Animal Care Specialist

As an Animal Care Specialist, you will be responsible for supervising groups of dogs, ensuring their wellbeing and safety, and providing canine enrichment through play and scheduled activities.

You will implement daily leadership and training activities, maintain a clean and safe environment, and build rapport with dog owners through regular feedback and transparency.

This is a challenging role that requires confidence in physically handling larger dog breeds, strong communication and empathetic skills, and the ability to work long days on your feet in a high-pressure environment.

We are looking for someone with a strong desire to learn more about canine behavior and training, and who is comfortable using computer systems and phone applications.

  • Supervise groups of dogs and manage their behaviors to maintain wellbeing and safety
  • Provide canine enrichment through play and scheduled activities
  • Implement daily leadership and training activities
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment
  • Build rapport with dog owners through regular feedback and transparency
Requirements:
  • Able to attend a lawful unpaid work trial shift
  • Confident in physically handling larger dog breeds
  • High level of communication and empathetic in nature
  • Able to work long days, on your feet, in a high-pressure environment
  • A strong desire to learn more about canine behavior and training
