The Project Officer Aboriginal Land Strategy plays a pivotal role in administering land dealings with Aboriginal communities, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation such as the Native Title Act 1993 and the Aboriginal Land Rights Act 1983. This involves partnering with Aboriginal communities to manage projects that facilitate the effective use and stewardship of their land assets.
Key responsibilities include managing the transfer of land from the Crown Land estate to Aboriginal communities, prioritizing competing priorities in a high-volume environment, and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of changing legal practices. Strong research, analysis, and communication skills are essential to develop and deliver projects effectively while fostering relationships with stakeholders to achieve successful project outcomes.
