Administrative Support Role

This position entails working closely with Local Aboriginal Land Councils to deliver tailored support services.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills are essential for interacting with diverse stakeholders in a professional manner.
  • Experience working with First Nations people or community-controlled organisations is highly desirable, demonstrating a strong commitment to cultural awareness.
  • Proficiency in computer software, particularly database management and client file management systems, is preferred for optimal administrative efficiency.
  • Adept problem-solving skills, combined with initiative, creativity, and humour, will enable the successful candidate to achieve positive outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
  • Closely collaborate with Local Aboriginal Land Councils via phone and email to obtain clear instructions.
  • Provide critical administrative assistance to the Senior Lawyer in delivering legal services to Local Aboriginal Land Councils.
  • Manage inquiries from Local Aboriginal Land Councils, provide legal information, facilitate pro bono referrals, and monitor these referrals.
  • Maintain up-to-date client records and perform various paralegal and administrative duties.
