Job Opportunity: Support for Local Aboriginal Land Councils

This role involves working with the Local Aboriginal Land Council Service team to deliver tailored support for a network of 120 Local Aboriginal Land Councils (LALCs) across NSW.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate closely with LALCs by phone and email to take clear and comprehensive instructions, administering each step of the intake process with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Provide critical administrative assistance to the Senior Lawyer in the provision of legal services to LALCs including:
  • Triaging inquiries from LALCs (including assessment of matters eligible for legal advice and referrals to member law firms and barristers)
  • Offering legal information to LALCs where appropriate.
  • Facilitating referrals to member law firms and barristers.
  • Monitoring referrals and supporting member law firms and barristers to assist LALCs.
  • Monitoring and maintaining client and other databases to ensure that data and record keeping is complete, current and accurate.
