Job Description:
- We deliver high-quality, therapeutic care to support children and young people in foster care, helping them heal from trauma and thrive.
- As a Foster Care Specialist, you will play a key role in supporting children and young people, including facilitating transitions, coordinating caregiver matches, and ensuring best-practice care.
- You will work closely with foster carers, families, and professionals to ensure each child receives the specialised care they need to overcome their past experiences and achieve their full potential.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Post-secondary qualifications in Welfare, Social Work, Child Development or relevant field (if Diploma level, willingness to study further)
- Current Victorian driver's licence
- Current CPR and First Aid certification
- Demonstrated ability to provide safe environments for children and young people and protect them from abuse and neglect
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of issues surrounding the out-of-home care system and available resources and services
- Demonstrated effective communication skills with adults, adolescents, children and sector representatives
