About the Role:

This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a pivotal role within the Strategy and Finance Group, where you'll have a real impact across the organisation. You'll take charge of management accounting for a diverse range of cost centres, playing a critical role in shaping the financial strategy and influencing key decisions.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead budgeting and forecasting for more than 20 cost centres, guiding the company's financial direction.
  • Deliver monthly performance insights that directly influence board-level and executive decisions.
  • Use “what-if” financial modelling to explore scenarios and steer strategic choices.
  • Evaluate business cases, assess investment opportunities, and oversee capital project accounting.
  • Empower budget managers and finance teams through training and support to enhance financial expertise.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, legislative requirements, and company policies.

About You:

You're not just a finance professional—you're a strategic thinker ready to partner with the business and drive impactful results. You bring a solid background in management accounting and financial analysis, ideally within the insurance or financial services sectors.

Your Qualifications and Skills:

  • A tertiary qualification in accounting (essential); CPA/CA qualification is highly regarded.
  • At least five years of hands-on experience in financial or management accounting roles.
  • A deep understanding of accounting standards, best practices, and financial analysis.
  • Sharp analytical skills, with the ability to make quick, strategic decisions.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Project); familiarity with Technology One is an advantage.
  • Exceptional communication skills, coupled with a talent for negotiation and customer service.
  • A collaborative mindset and enthusiasm for mentoring and developing others.
