Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Network Acquisition Specialist to join our team at Microsoft. As a key member of our Cloud Infrastructure Sourcing team, you will be responsible for acquiring and managing network infrastructure to support our cloud and AI services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage stakeholders to design and acquire critical network infrastructure for our cloud and AI services.
  • Lead and manage procurement projects for network acquisition, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and industry experts to identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency gains.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to identify and define strategic initiatives to meet expansion and cost reduction needs.
  • Communicate progress and collaborate with network deployment teams to ensure seamless integration of new infrastructure.
Requirements
  • BS or BA degree in a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Industry experience in network sourcing and acquisition, including colocation sourcing, metro and long-haul dark fiber acquisition, and lit wavelengths.
  • 3+ years of experience in networking and/or data center technologies.
  • Solid understanding of geospatial data and related analysis technologies.
  • Network construction experience in the ANZ market.
  • 3+ years of program management or equivalent engineering experience leading, defining, and delivering projects or services.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in network, data center/colo sourcing and acquisition, and contracting.
  • Solid working understanding of domestic and global carrier networks.
  • Depth of experience presenting and communicating to executives and C-suite leadership.
  • Great problem-solving, strategic thinking, and technical skills.
  • Business acumen demonstrated through prior work or education.
  • Self-driven and ability to work with minimal direction.
  • Technical experience with databases, data integration, and data access technologies.
  • Experience with a data-driven/metrics-driven mindset and the ability to experiment, learn, and improve.
