About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Content Acquisition Specialist to join our International Services team at the Australian Broadcasting Corporation. In this newly created role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a content acquisition strategy, securing rights and licenses for broadcast and digital distribution on our screen platforms.

Key Responsibilities
  • Research and evaluate high-quality screen content for broadcast and/or digital distribution
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with content producers, distributors, and stakeholders
  • Manage logistics, budgetary, and contractual aspects of cleared and acquired content
  • Manage rights clearances and licensing in consultation with ABC Legal and Business Affairs teams
About You

You will possess extensive experience in international media sales and/or programming acquisitions, with a high-level understanding of copyright law, licensing agreements, and other legal aspects of content acquisition. As an excellent communicator, you will have outstanding relationship building and negotiation skills, with the ability to manage and foster new and existing relationships.

You will have:

  • Outstanding analytical skills and the ability to analyze market trends, audience preferences, and financial data
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills in a programming, sales, acquisition, rights management environment
  • High-level knowledge and understanding of the domestic and international television markets, with particular interest in the Indo Pacific region
