Role Summary

As the Manager of Planning and Procurement, you will be instrumental in managing the planning and procurement activities for our projects. Reporting to the Senior Operations Manager, you will lead a skilled team, oversee production timelines, and ensure the efficient delivery of materials for our projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide effective leadership, mentoring, and motivation to a dedicated team, fostering a collaborative work environment.
  • Align the goals of the Planning and Procurement teams with project delivery by supporting internal stakeholders.
  • Oversee the creation and upkeep of the production schedule, ensuring it is optimized for effective project delivery.
  • Manage the procurement team to accurately forecast material needs based on the production schedule and ensure timely material delivery.
  • Oversee team budgets and project-related costs, including the development of demand and capacity plans.
  • Support new sourcing requirements for the manufacturing and maintenance sectors.
  • Manage key supplier relationships and negotiate favorable commercial terms to secure optimal pricing and delivery conditions.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve process efficiency and reduce costs in procurement and planning.
  • Prepare and present performance reports, offering insights and identifying areas for enhancement.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Procurement Planning or Supply Chain management, particularly within safety-critical sectors such as rail, automotive, or defense. You will excel in fostering positive team dynamics and possess strong communication, negotiation, and leadership capabilities.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Demonstrated experience as a leader in Procurement Planning or Supply Chain.
  • Comprehensive understanding of production planning, purchasing, and quality assurance.
  • Proficiency in ERP or MRP systems, including SAP.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively.
