The Role
The Project Buyer role is a critical part of the Procurement and Supply Chain Team at Luerssen Australia. As a Project Buyer, you will work closely with the Procurement Team Lead to develop and manage both simple and complex procurement activities.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and issue Request for Tenders (RFTs)
- Prepare, issue, and evaluate Request for Quotations (RFQs)
- Supplier Selection and Management
- Process Requisitions and Purchase Orders
- Cost Management
- Procurement Planning
- Compliance with all applicable procedures and policies
- Analyze industry and demand trends and support senior management with the development and implementation of sourcing strategies
- Negotiate contracts with suppliers to secure advantageous terms and pricing for the organization
- Evaluate and select suppliers based on criteria such as price, quality, service, and capacity
- Coordinate with internal departments to understand their procurement needs and specifications
- Manage the procurement budget and monitor spending to ensure it aligns with financial objectives
- Resolve disputes and handle returns or exchanges with suppliers in cases of defective or unsatisfactory goods or services
- Coordinate with Sub-contracts coordinators to manage supplier partners
- Conduct sustainability assessments of procurement practices and suppliers to promote responsible purchasing decisions
- A meticulous evaluation of purchasing patterns, supplier performance, and market trends is necessary to implement strategies that improve the organization's financial health
Requirements
- Certification II in Procurement or higher
- CIPS or Equivalent
- Intermediate to Advanced skills in MS Office
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a role or similar role
- Knowledge of Procurement procedures and processes
- Highly motivated with excellent problem-solving skills, good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to multitask
- Understand ERP systems and tools
- Supplier Relationship Management between subcontractors and suppliers
- Ability to negotiate pricing, payments terms, terms and conditions of purchase, and issue Purchase Orders
- Generate documents, organize and manage files, including maintaining tracking data and reports
