Weed Management Specialist

Council is seeking a motivated professional to join the Environmental Management team and implement best practice management for priority weeds and local natural resources.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect public and private lands for priority weeds and enforce relevant legislation when required.
- Identify weeds and provide technical expertise to land managers on weed control techniques.
- Enhance community knowledge on weed-related matters by developing educational material and building relationships with stakeholders.
- Control priority weeds on council-owned land.
- Qualifications and/or experience in Horticulture, Conservation, or similar related disciplines (highly desirable).
- Demonstrated experience in identification and control of weeds, including powered equipment operation and maintenance.
- Good computer skills and ability to use electronic mapping systems.
- A valid Driver's Licence (LR Licence or higher desirable).
- General Construction Induction Training Card.
- AQF Level 3 Chemical Handling Accreditation or willingness to obtain.
- SafeWork NSW Implement Traffic Control Plans or willingness to obtain.
