Weed Control Specialist

We are seeking a diligent individual to operate and run roadside weed spraying program to apply herbicides in the treatment of weed species along road network and reserves.

Main responsibilities include maintaining roadways and public lands for priority weed species as well as operating plant and equipment used for weed control.

A comprehensive, organised and up to date record system must be maintained to ensure identification of biosecurity matter extent density and control.

Requirements
  • Current NSW Class C and LR or higher Drivers Licence.
  • HLTAID003.
Licences and Certifications
  • R IIWHS206 - Provide first aid (Unit of Competency).
  • AHCCHM3037 Prepare and Apply Chemicals to Control Pest, Weeds and Diseases (Unit of Competency).
  • AHCCHM304 Transport, Handle and Store Chemicals (Unit of Competency).
Experience and Skills
  • Two years relevant experience in delivery of on ground high volume weed control.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to prioritise works and work independently and within a team.
  • Demonstrated experience in weed control techniques through manual and chemical applications including spraying herbicide using vehicle-mounted pressurised applicators, backpack units and cut and paint.
  • Solid knowledge of Bega Valley road system.
