About this role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Specialist Family Violence Practitioner to provide crisis response, risk assessment, and case management services to women and children escaping family violence.
This is a challenging yet rewarding role that requires the ability to work in high-pressure environments while managing complex cases. The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to victim survivor safety and empowerment, as well as excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor level qualification in Social Work or an equivalent met through the 7 Equivalency Principles. They will also have experience in family violence crisis intervention and case management, as well as strong knowledge of risk assessment, trauma-informed care, and family violence frameworks.
Responsibilities include providing crisis response, risk assessment, and case management services to women and children escaping family violence. The successful candidate will also be required to deliver trauma-informed and strength-based support, prioritize victim survivor safety and empowerment, and work within relevant frameworks and guidelines to manage risk and hold perpetrators accountable.
Additional responsibilities include advocating for victim survivors, collaborating with local, regional, and statewide services, participating in an after-hours on-call roster for crisis response, supporting clients in emergency and refuge accommodation, and helping with safety planning and material aid.
About you:
- A Bachelor level qualification in Social Work or equivalency met through the 7 Equivalency Principles.
- Experience in family violence crisis intervention and case management.
- Strong knowledge of risk assessment, trauma-informed care, and family violence frameworks.
- Ability to work in high-pressure environments while managing a complex caseload.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- A valid Victorian Driver Licence, Working with Children Check, and satisfactory police check.
