Family Violence Specialist Registrar

The Family Violence Specialist Registrar plays a pivotal role in the Court's response to family violence. They collaborate with various stakeholders, including judges, court registrars, support workers, police, legal services, and other support services to effectively manage cases involving victims and perpetrators of family violence.

This critical position involves establishing relationships with key community services and agencies, promoting information sharing amongst them, and making appropriate referrals. The Family Violence Specialist Registrar is responsible for coordinating cases within the family violence and intervention order jurisdiction, including family violence related criminal matters.

  • Exercise administrative, statutory, and quasi-judicial powers as a Registrar in accordance with the Magistrate' Court Act 1989 and other relevant Acts, rules, and regulations.
  • Coordinate cases within the family violence and intervention order jurisdiction, including family violence related criminal matters.

To be successful in this role, you must possess strong interpersonal skills, effective team player abilities, and have the capacity to exercise sound judgement. You should also demonstrate a commitment to delivering quality services and leadership qualities.

This role combines significant technical components with team leadership and people-management elements. You will be responsible for supervising registry staff and ensuring their professional development and performance feedback.
