Family Violence Specialist Practitioner Role

The Family Violence Specialist Practitioner role is a complex and rewarding opportunity to make a tangible difference in the lives of women and children affected by family violence.

  • This position involves crisis intervention, risk assessment, and case management for individuals escaping family violence.
  • The Family Violence Specialist Practitioner will deliver trauma-informed support prioritizing victim safety and empowerment.
  • Key responsibilities include managing risk within relevant frameworks and guidelines, holding perpetrators accountable, advocating for victims, collaborating with local services, participating in an on-call roster, and providing support in emergency accommodations and material aid.

To excel in this role, you will require a Bachelor level qualification in Social Work or equivalent met through recognized equivalency principles, experience in family violence crisis intervention and case management, strong knowledge of risk assessment, trauma-informed care, and family violence frameworks, ability to work under pressure while managing a complex caseload, excellent communication skills, and stakeholder engagement.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:
