About this role:

  • This is a key appointment that plays a crucial part in ensuring operational communication systems function as required, with a focus on data management and governance.

The Communications Technical Manager will be responsible for providing expert advice to ensure the performance of call taking and dispatching environments meets the required standards.

This includes interfacing data generated from systems with AV's data repositories according to data governance requirements.

This is a full-time, ongoing appointment that reports directly to Director Communications Centres. Key responsibilities include acting as the primary contact point for disruptions to operational communications systems, being available after hours to deal with time-critical incidents, and ensuring operational communication systems meet specified performance requirements.

Key skills and qualifications for this role include experience in facilitating delivery and support of technical products and services, a strong understanding of risk management and business continuity planning, and excellent interpersonal and influencing skills.

A successful candidate will also have experience as an influential manager who is focused on team development and continual improvement, with a track record of delivering results in a fast-paced environment.
