Culinary Leader for Indian and Arab Cuisine

We are seeking a full-time Culinary Leader to complement our kitchen team at Ittehad Brothers Pty Ltd trading as Pista House. The successful candidate will carry a salary of $75,000 to $85,000 plus super.

Applicants must possess the following qualifications:

  • An Advanced Diploma, Diploma or Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery / Kitchen Management
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role or equivalent experience of 3 years

The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills and be able to oversee food preparation, presentation, and menu planning. Key responsibilities include:

  • Cooking and preparing mains, entrées, and side items, as well as signature dishes and dietary-specific food for patrons
  • Selecting and planning recipes, creating new combinations based on customer trends and seasonal produce
  • Estimating food consumption and requisitioning supplies for lunches, dinners, and functions
  • Receiving and examining supplies and stock, ensuring quality control measures are implemented
  • Supervising and training new kitchen staff in cooking, plating, and presentation techniques
  • Oversight of sanitation, food, and hygiene regulations compliance by the kitchen staff
  • Providing recommendations for menu changes and daily specials to management
