
Heavy Equipment Maintenance Expert

As a Technical Service Specialist, you will play a critical role in providing expert technical support to our customers and technicians. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the prompt repair and maintenance of our equipment, ensuring that it operates safely and efficiently.
- Provide technical support to customers and technicians over the phone, assisting with troubleshooting and problem-solving. Coordinate with parts departments and customers on part availability and ensure timely delivery of necessary components.
- Attend to field breakdowns, repairing crane equipment in a timely manner. Collaborate with product development teams to maintain safety and reliability of our machines by implementing product updates and service bulletins.
- Accurately document and submit service reports upon completion of repairs, ensuring timely communication with stakeholders.
- Interact with factories and COEs to resolve repair processes and diagnostic information, providing feedback on component failure to facilitate improvement.
- Organize pre-delivery inspections and operator familiarization for new machines, collaborating with sales teams and customers to identify additional requirements.
- Train distributors in the commissioning of new products, ensuring smooth integration into the market.
- Analyze and troubleshoot warranty problems beyond the scope of distributors or customers, delivering exceptional customer satisfaction.
- Communicate effectively with MCG personnel on matters related to service materials, product requirements, availability, and code compliance.
- Plan and coordinate activities to investigate and resolve customer reports of technical problems, utilizing applicable processes to prevent future operational difficulties.
- Analyze reports of technical problems to identify trends affecting future design, production, service, and maintenance processes, recommending modifications to eliminate potential issues.
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you will require:
- A high school diploma with at least 5 years of experience in technical service and support, preferably in the heavy equipment or crane industry.
- OEM or dealer experience in the heavy equipment or crane industry is advantageous.
- Specialized training in the crane industry or on Manitowoc Cranes can be beneficial.
- A trade certificate in Mechanical or Electrical trades, with strong skills in automotive and Canbus electrical diagnostics.
- Proven fault-finding and diagnostic skills in Electrical, hydraulic, engine, drive-line, braking, and general maintenance and repairs in Heavy equipment or LBCC and Mobile Cranes.
- The ability to read and work with electronic and hydraulic schematics.
