Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Field Equipment Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in providing technical support and repair services for heavy equipment and cranes.

  1. Provide expert-level technical assistance by phone to customers and distributors.
  2. Respond promptly to field breakdowns and perform repairs on crane equipment.
  3. Maintain accurate service records and submit them in a timely manner upon completion of each repair.
  4. Collaborate with manufacturers to identify component failure trends and provide feedback.
  5. Develop and deliver training programs to distributors on the commissioning of new products.
  6. Analyze and troubleshoot complex warranty claims that exceed distributor or customer capabilities.
  7. Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders to resolve service material, product requirements, availability, and code compliance issues.
  8. Plan and coordinate activities to investigate and resolve customer reports of technical problems using established processes to prevent future difficulties.
  9. Analyze technical problem reports to identify trends affecting design, production, service, and maintenance processes and recommend modifications to eliminate future issues.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  1. A high school diploma or equivalent and at least 5 years of experience in technical service and support, preferably in the heavy equipment or crane industry.
  2. OEM or dealer experience in heavy equipment/crane background is highly desirable.
  3. Specialized training in the crane industry or Manitowoc Cranes is advantageous.
  4. A trade certificate in Mechanical or Electrical trades with expertise in automotive and Canbus electrical diagnostics.
  5. Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills in Electrical, hydraulic, engine, drive-line, braking, and general maintenance and repairs in heavy equipment or LBCC and Mobile Cranes.
  6. The ability to read and work with electronic and hydraulic schematics.
