Job Title: Multi-Skilled Plant Maintenance Expert

The role of a Multi-Skilled Plant Maintenance Expert is to ensure all plant and equipment operates effectively and efficiently. This involves liaising with relevant departments and stakeholders to guarantee food safety during preventative maintenance and breakdowns.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Brokers strong relationships with Production Managers, Supervisors, and Line Leaders;
  • Carries out regular preventative maintenance tasks on various plant and manufacturing machinery to the highest standards;
  • Diagnoses and repairs electrical and mechanical issues;
  • Provides technical support as needed;
  • Assists in developing and improving preventative and predictive maintenance routines;
  • Supports Production and Engineering teams in achieving targets and KPIs;
  • Closely monitors line and machine performance;
  • Intervenes promptly when any deterioration in performance occurs;
  • Collaborates with equipment suppliers on new equipment installations and modifications;
  • Updates the maintenance management system (CMMS);
  • Demonstrates process awareness, diagnostic/trouble-shooting, and resolution skills gained in high-volume environments;
  • Maintains flexibility to undertake learning, development, training, and continuous improvement initiatives off-shift when required.
Requirements:
  • Hold a Trades Qualification or equivalent;
  • Experience in food production or similar environments is advantageous;
  • Practical experience in maintaining conveyors, packing machines, food processing equipment, robotics, or similar machinery is desirable;
  • Understanding of modern maintenance roles;
  • Possess basic computer skills.
