Job Description:
About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Wine Director to join our team at a renowned fine dining restaurant. As a Wine Director, you will be responsible for managing and elevating our prestigious wine program, providing expert wine selections and pairings to discerning guests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and train the sommelier team to deliver exceptional wine experiences
- Manage all administrative aspects of the wine program, including purchasing, cost control, and stock management
- Collaborate with the restaurant team to ensure seamless guest experiences
- Develop and implement wine lists, menus, and promotions to drive sales and revenue growth
- Build and maintain relationships with wine suppliers, distributors, and industry partners
Requirements:
- CMS Certified equivalent or higher
- Previous experience as a Head Sommelier or Wine Director
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Exceptional service and wine knowledge
- Proficiency in POS systems and Excel
- Ability to manage stock control and cellar management
