About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Wine Director to join our team at Frontline Recruitment. As a key member of our hospitality team, you will be responsible for curating and managing our wine list, ensuring a diverse and balanced selection that complements our culinary offerings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Wine List Management: Curate and manage the restaurant's wine list, ensuring a diverse and balanced selection that meets the needs of our discerning guests.
  • Wine Education: Conduct wine tastings and staff training sessions to enhance product knowledge and service standards among our team members.
  • Guest Experience: Provide expert recommendations to guests, enhancing their dining experience and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with our culinary team to create harmonious wine and food pairings that showcase the best of our menu offerings.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain inventory levels, conduct regular stock takes, and manage supplier relationships to ensure seamless wine service.
  • Technical Skills: Have a solid understanding of POS, Excel, and pricing to be able to order and manage costs effectively.
  • Service Standards: Oversee wine service during service hours, ensuring the highest standards of professionalism and excellence.
Requirements
  • Experience: Proven experience as a Head Sommelier in a similar role, with a strong track record of success.
  • Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of local and international wines, with a passion for continuous learning and staying up-to-date on the latest trends and developments.
  • Leadership: Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and train a team to deliver exceptional results.
  • Customer Service: Excellent customer service skills, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to delivering a world-class experience.
  • Certification: CMS Certified equivalent or higher, with a strong understanding of wine service standards and best practices.
