Waterfront Infrastructure Specialist

This position involves working with urban waterfront, coastal management and coastal structures projects, including marinas, marine terminals, living shorelines and coastal restoration. The specialist will assist in planning and design, prepare or contribute to feasibility investigations, environmental impact studies, coastal hazard assessments, infrastructure condition assessments and engineering designs.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in a related field and 2+ years of experience as a coastal engineer. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil3D and/or GIS (QGIS or ArcGIS) is desirable. Hydrodynamic and wave modelling experience is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills are essential for collaboration with other team members to achieve project goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development of urban waterfront, coastal management and coastal structures projects.
  • Prepare or contribute to feasibility investigations, environmental impact studies, coastal hazard assessments, infrastructure condition assessments and engineering designs.
  • Collect and analyse data, survey results, geotechnical investigations, engineering drawings, aerial photography and review reports to support project work.
  • Undertake calculations or modelling of coastal processes and sediment transport to support engineering or environmental assessments.
  • Collaborate with other team members to achieve project goals.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience as a coastal engineer.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil3D and/or GIS (QGIS or ArcGIS).
  • Hydrodynamic and wave modelling experience.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Availability and willingness to travel.

Working Conditions:

  • Work may involve prolonged periods of sedentary activity with occasional travel.
