The Community Chaplain position is an Anglicare initiative, a maximum term part-time role with a two-year contract (with an option to renew), working four days a week.
Job Overview:
The successful candidate will provide help for today and hope for tomorrow as a Community Chaplain. This role involves generous kindness and Gospel friendship with marginalised individuals, pointing them to Jesus and into church community.
Key responsibilities include an outward-focused role into the local community, seeking to bless individuals and the community by meeting their physical, emotional, and social needs, as well as their spiritual needs, drawing individuals to Christ and into the community of faith.
Requirements:
- Strong Christian faith and capacity to build relationships
- Ability to engage constructively with other agencies involved in the local community
- Capacity to develop the ability of individuals to live a full life while sharing the gospel
- Compassion and resilience with significant pastoral experience
- Ability to communicate the Christian message clearly through conversations
- Culturally sensitive with experience in children and family ministry
- Valid Working with Children Check
- COVID-19 vaccination is a mandatory requirement unless assessed exempt
About You:
We are looking for a highly motivated and caring individual who can set clear boundaries, possess sound interpersonal skills, and effectively communicate the Christian message.

Estimated Salary: $80,000 - $100,000 per annum.
