Aboriginal Student Education Officer

This is a pivotal role to ensure engagement and support is provided to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students at RMIT University. As an Officer, Indigenous Student Education, you will work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to build strong purposeful links with communities and students.
Job DescriptionThe successful candidate will have as a minimum:
- A knowledge of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and an understanding of community needs, particularly the educational and personal support needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.
- Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to build rapport with staff, students and the community and a demonstrated ability to manage sensitive matters in a professional and culturally appropriate manner.
- Proven ability to access, tailor and deliver information effectively to a diverse range of clients and stakeholders.
- Proven strong organisational skills; sound analytical and problem solving skills, and a capacity to improve administration processes to improve efficiency.
This is an Aboriginal Designated Position, classified under 'special measures' of section 12 of the Equal Employment Opportunity Act. Only Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people are eligible to apply.
Appointment to this position is subject to passing a Working with Children Check.
What We OfferWe offer a salary of $85,948 plus 17% superannuation, along with flexible working arrangements and the opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive team environment.
