About this role:
We are seeking an Aboriginal Health Worker to provide culturally sensitive care navigation support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and young people within Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS).
This is an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Identified position.
The successful candidate will leverage their lived experience to provide 'service navigation' support, connecting families with mental health resources across the Central Coast.
The key responsibilities of this role include:
- Providing cultural consultation to our non-Aboriginal workforce to deliver culturally safe and responsive care.
- Increasing delivery of culturally appropriate services, making a significant impact on the well-being of Aboriginal children and families.
About you:
You are a proud Aboriginal person, an advocate for culturally sensitive care navigation. Your experience, knowledge and connections to the community will be essential in supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and young people within CAMHS.
This role requires
- Culturally sensitive communication and interpersonal skills.
- A strong understanding of the needs and experiences of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and young people.
- The ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team.
