Culturally Sensitive Care Navigator for Children's Mental Health
About the Role:
This position requires a culturally sensitive care navigator to support young people and their families in accessing mental health services. The ideal candidate will have experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and families, and be able to provide 'service navigation' support to help families navigate mental health issues and connect them with the right resources.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leverage your lived experience to support young people and their families, ensuring they have access to the appropriate services across the Central Coast.
- Provide service navigation support to help families navigate mental health issues and connect them with the right resources.
- Enhance engagement and access to CAMHS through telephone, telehealth, or in-person interactions in hospital and community settings.
- Offer cultural consultation to our non-Aboriginal workforce, guiding them to deliver culturally safe and responsive care.
- Increase the delivery of culturally appropriate services, making a significant impact on the well-being of Aboriginal children and families.
